Luiza Gega continues to script the history of Albanian athletics with golden letters. The European champion has once again surpassed herself, marking another significant achievement by setting a new national record in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

This time, Gega amazed at the prestigious event, the "Diamond League," held in Zurich. The crimson champion clocked in at 9:09.64 in tonight's race, thus imprinting another record in an incredible career. Luiza improves upon her previous time of 9:10.27, which she had set a year earlier at the World Championships in the USA.
The "Diamond League" featured the world's best athletes, and with her time of 9:09.64, Gega secured the fourth-place position.
The entire Zurich podium was dominated by the trio from the Budapest World Championships, with Kenyan athlete Mutile Winfred Yavi, representing Bahrain, taking the first place with a time of 9:03.19. She was followed by two Kenyan athletes, Beatrice Chepkoech with a time of 9:03.70 and Faith Cherotich with a result of 9:07.59. Right after them, our champion crossed the finish line, breaking every barrier and astonishing in the most important global athletics arenas.
