Marko Kepi, the Albanian-American known as the founder of the "Albanian Roots" organization, kicked off his campaign for the New York State Assembly in Brooklyn yesterday.
Officially launching his campaign from the premises of the "Tatiana Grill" restaurant in the Brighton Beach neighborhood of Brooklyn, alongside dozens of American and Albanian supporters, were also several Republican leaders from Brooklyn and Staten Island, who officially declared their trust in Republican politician Marko Kepi's candidacy for the New York State Senate.
Kepi, who came to the USA at a young age, stated that he runs with the motivation: "We must unite to save our country from radical left and their failed policies."
The new Republican candidate said that this time he has also received strong support from Republican leaders in Staten Island and Brooklyn, hoping to mobilize Republican voters in this part of the electorate in the challenging race that awaits him on November 5th.
Marko Kepi's participation in this race is interesting because New York State Republicans claim to win three candidates to take the majority in the NYS Senate, and these elections will coincide with the biggest American electoral battle, that for the White House.
New York newcomer politician Marko Kepi officially announced his Republican candidacy for the general elections on November 5th, as he announced he seeks Republican voter support for the New York State Senate Assembly.
Under the Republican Party banner, this time he will run for election to the New York State Senate to represent the 23rd District, without prior primaries, at least Republican leaders from Staten Island and Brooklyn declared at the opening of his campaign.
Marko Kepi's campaign opened with electrifying speeches from prominent figures of the Republican Party in Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, including Republican branch chairman Richie Barsamian, former Senator Marty Golden, former Congressman Michael Grimm, Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny, and Assemblyman Michael Novakov.
Marko Kepi, an American citizen, is a proud American. He came to this country at a young age from Albania, formerly communist and converted to socialist, in pursuit of his American dream.
From a young age, he demonstrated great interest and passion for American politics.
Marko Kepi grew up with patriotic parents and family (monarchical and right-wing persecuted), who instilled in him the true values of the Republican right in America.
He himself, thanks to his schooling and tireless work, dedication, and deep faith in God, rose even higher in the ranks of the politician.
Marko says he is a lifelong Republican, and he has been involved in the Republican Party since his teenage years when he worked as an intern for Rudy Giuliani's mayoral campaign. From that moment, Marko knew he wanted to enter public service and make a difference in the lives of others.
He is a proud product of the American school system in New York City. He graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a degree in Political Science and earned an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Wagner College.
After completing his education, Kepi gained extraordinary experience from his time working for Senator Marty Golden's office in Brooklyn. During this time, Marko helped voters address quality of life issues facing their community.
Marko Kepi is distinguished in the Albanian-American community, especially for successfully organizing the massive Albanian segment in the annual Emigrant Foundation Parade in New York City.
Known by Albanians as the "Albanian Parade," the red and black part of this march has become the largest event of the Albanian community in the past decade. This massive Albanian procession, a "red and black tide" that floods America Avenue, with music, dance, and Albanian pride.
In the Albanian-American community, Marko leads the organization he founded "Albanian Roots," while being active with the Pan-Albanian Federation of America Vatra and the Albanian-American Civic League led by former Congressman Joe DioGuardi.
Albanian-American Marko Kepi is running in the 23rd district of the New York State Senate, which includes Staten Island and part of northern Brooklyn.
If Marko Kepi wins, he would become the first Albanian-American elected to the New York State Senate and the second in the state legislature after former Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj.
In this race, Marko Kepi brings with him the classic American story of an immigrant, in this case the son of a family from Albania, who starts life from scratch and climbs the ladder of success thanks to American freedom and democracy.
