5 Croatian Mountaineers Rescued After Falling from Maja e Jezercë, 1 Fatality, 2 Others Seriously Injured

 Five Croatian mountaineers who fell from Maja e Jezercës have been rescued, two of whom are in critical condition, while one of them lost their life. This is the outcome of the search and rescue operation undertaken on Saturday afternoon, following a distress call received by the Albanian authorities.

The victim has been identified as Mr. L., 43 years old, who was part of a group of mountaineers. He slipped from a height and tragically lost his life. After several hours of searching, her body was located and will be transported by helicopter to the morgue.

Meanwhile, the other five mountaineers are returning to their vehicles in Montenegro. Additionally, two others were airlifted to the city of Bajram Curri.


The mountaineers had entered from the territory of Montenegro, and for their rescue, the State Police, in cooperation with the Emergency Service, Armed Forces, and Search and Rescue Unit of the Republic of Kosovo, were engaged.
