The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci, KSF Commander Bashkim Jashari, representatives from local institutions, diplomats from friendly countries in Kosovo, and members of the KSF.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti emphasized that the State Training Center for Cyber Security represents a commitment and dedication to progress, marking a significant milestone in this journey. Kurti highlighted that the digital age has brought unprecedented opportunities for progress and development, but it also poses significant challenges for humanity. In this context, he stressed that training and educating professionals are the only effective ways to defend against cyber threats.
"The center will serve governmental and public institutions, as well as entities in critical infrastructure within the private sector. Training sessions will be conducted by internal trainers from the Ministry of Defense and the Kosovo Security Force, as well as external and international trainers," noted Kurti. He added that the training curriculum encompasses a wide range of topics, from incident management to cyber diplomacy.
Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci underscored that cyber attacks are becoming increasingly frequent, and the aim is for this center to train security institutions to combat any cyber threat effectively.
"The State Training Center for Cyber Security will offer training aimed at raising awareness of cyber security risks, improving professional skills, and assisting in enhancing the cyber security levels of governmental institutions, essential service operators, and digital service providers to build capacities for protecting critical infrastructure in the country," emphasized Maqedonci.
As part of this center, Kosovo has acquired 15 multifunctional trucks from a German company, with 10 purchased through the Kosovo Government's budget and the remaining five as donations. These resources will further bolster Kosovo's capabilities in addressing cyber security challenges and safeguarding its digital infrastructure.
