A tragic incident occurred around 19:00 on the Tepelenë-Memaliaj road axis, involving three vehicles. According to the police, the collision resulted in the loss of life for 4 individuals and left 2 others injured, who were subsequently taken to Gjirokastër Regional Hospital for medical assistance.

The investigative team is currently working to clarify the circumstances and causes of the accident. Local media sources suggest that the loss of control of the vehicle, leading to the accident, may have been caused by the slippery terrain due to wet conditions and excessive speed.
Shortly after the accident, the police managed to identify the victims: Riza Rapaj, 42 years old, Lavdosh Bega, 62 years old, his wife Lefteri Bega, around 57 years old, and Afërdita Bega, around 85 years old, were the four individuals tragically lost in the accident that occurred last night in Tepelenë.
Sources indicate that Lavdosh Bega was the driver of the Toyota vehicle involved in the collision. Initially, a Mercedes vehicle collided with the Toyota, followed by the BMW.
The cause of the accident is suspected to be either the wet road conditions or improper overtaking. As a result of the collision, two other individuals were left injured and were transported to Trauma.
"As a result of the collision between vehicles, 4 individuals have lost their lives, yet to be identified, and 2 other individuals have been injured," the police reported.
The investigative team is diligently working to elucidate the circumstances and causes of the accident.
