A Milestone Achievement

This significant achievement was solidified with the signing of an agreement on March 5th in Geneva. With this agreement, Albanian physicists are now part of the largest experiment in the world of physics. The CMS experiment involves approximately 5,000 researchers from around the globe. Now, the Albanian contingent, composed of seven physicists, will contribute their expertise to this esteemed scientific endeavor.

Albanian Representatives in the Global Scientific Community

The Albanian group joining the CMS experiment comprises esteemed individuals from both academic and research backgrounds. From the University of Tirana, we have Prof. Asst. Dr. Rudina Osmanaj, Prof. Asst. Dr. Klaudio Peqini, and Prof. Asst. Dr. Olta Çakaj from the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Representing the Polytechnic University of Tirana are Prof. Asst. Dr. Altin Gjevori, Prof. Asst. Dr. Dafina Hyka, and Dr. Enkelejd Çaça. Dr. Ilirjan Margjeka serves as the contact person for the CMS experiment in Albania.

Empowering Albanian Scientists

The participation of Albanian physicists in such a significant experiment is of immense importance. It not only signifies Albania's contribution to global scientific research but also opens doors for Albanian scientists to access real experimental data and publish their findings in globally renowned scientific journals.

Conclusion

The inclusion of Albanian physicists in the CMS experiment at CERN marks a monumental step forward for Albanian science and research. It underscores the nation's commitment to scientific advancement and collaboration on a global scale. With this milestone, Albanian scientists have rightfully earned the opportunity to engage with real experimental data, contributing to the collective pursuit of knowledge in the field of physics.
