Albania meets its electricity needs without importing

Albanian Power Corporation (KESH) announces that the energy reserve in the Drin Cascade is approximately 1054 GWh. KESH considers this an optimal operating value for the season.

KESH has stated that the hydrological situation during the first three months of the year has seen low to moderate precipitation, allowing inflows to remain around the multi-year average values, meeting the demand for energy production without the need for imports, as cited by "RTSH." Additionally, according to the Corporation, in any case of rainfall events, the possibility of exporting energy will be evaluated.

Meanwhile, KESH is managing its financial portfolio through optimization procedures, increasing revenue without affecting energy reserves and simultaneously meeting the need for domestic consumption. According to calculations, through optimization, the Albanian Power Corporation has secured around 431 thousand euros.

This was achieved through three procedures carried out from March 23 to April 12. The implementation of energy trading procedures aims to profit from the price difference between selling and buying.

According to current legislation, purchasing is done at a lower price than selling, ensuring additional revenue for the Albanian Power Corporation.
