On Thursday, the Federal Republic of Germany donated military vehicles worth 3 million euros to the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). The ceremony took place at the "Adem Jashari" barracks in Pristina, where the KSF received five trucks, while another 10 will be purchased using their own funds.

Attending the donation handover ceremony from Germany were the Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, the KSF Commander, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, the German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, as well as local and international officials and officers.
The German ambassador stated that the value of the five donated vehicles is 3 million euros. He announced that the KSF has decided to purchase an additional 10 vehicles using their own resources.
"In addition to these 5 trucks valued at around 3 million euros in donation, the KSF has decided to purchase another 10 with their own funds," Rohde said during the ceremony.
In the budget for Kosovo for the year 2024, approved at the end of last year, the Ministry of Defense was allocated a budget worth 153 million euros.
Kosovo has also requested to purchase "Javelin" missiles from the United States worth 75 million euros.
But what are these trucks used for?
The HX3 series of military trucks are produced by the German armament company Rheinmetall, in collaboration with the well-known company "MAN". These types of trucks are used for logistic and tactical missions and are designed to handle difficult terrains.
The HX3 series follows the models HX and HX2. Kosovo has received the HX3 series as a donation, and it was first unveiled in May 2021.
The trucks donated by Germany can also be used for air defense. However, the "Skyranger 30" system must be installed separately on the trucks. There has been no announcement that Kosovo has also purchased this system along with the trucks.
