Kosovo Albanian Caught with € 24,900 undeclared at Albanian Border Point

 An incident at the Morina border crossing has brought attention to Albanian authorities due to an unusual case of undeclared wealth at the border. A 45-year-old Albanian from Kosovo was apprehended by the police while attempting to enter Albania with a sum of 24,900 euros, which he had not declared.

Customs authorities and border police are involved in this case, aiming to prevent and combat illegal activities at the border. The individual, referred to as I. Z., a resident of Lipjan, Kosovo, was criminally charged by Albanian authorities for the offense of "Non-declaration at the border of cash and valuable items."

"The vehicle, a 'Benz' type, driven by citizen I. Z., was subjected to detailed inspection at the Morina border checkpoint as part of efforts to prevent and combat illegal activities at the border entry of the Republic of Albania," stated the police announcement.

During the physical inspection, approximately 24,900 euros were found on the individual, which he was attempting to bring into Albania without declaring, as required by law.

Following procedural actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where legal proceedings began against the Kosovar citizen I. Z., aged 45, residing in Lipjan, Kosovo, for the offense of "Non-declaration at the border of cash and valuable items."

Additionally, the seized sum of money was taken as material evidence," the police statement concluded.
