In a joint press statement, the Élysée chief stated that France is impressed by the progress of reforms in Albania. Macron congratulated his counterpart for the voice Albania has had so far in the region, on Kosovo issues, but also on the international stage.

"I admire the path your country has taken, for the friendship, the deep European feelings. This is how the French are, even more than the French, Europeans..."

On the other hand, Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about a new wave of rapprochement between the Balkan countries and the European Union, where, as the prime minister expressed, there is already an integration process on the table, beyond bureaucratic procedures. And for this, he attributed the credit to the approach taken by the French president.

"I am very proud for Albania, for this friendship between Albania and France. For the first time in our history, a representative of the Albanian state is received in this way. This will mean a lot to us," Rama said among other things.

As announced during the joint press conference of the two leaders, Albania and France will sign an intergovernmental agreement on sustainable water tourism management and innovation.
