The Shkodra Court has sentenced an Italian to 4 years in prison for staging his own death, Davide Pecorelli, a businessman from Tiferno, who staged his death in Albania and then reappeared in Italy in a rather daring manner.

He is accused of arson, violating Albanian national borders as an illegal immigrant, and obstructing the truth from being revealed.
Meanwhile, regarding his extradition, a hearing before the Court of Appeal of Perugia to decide on the extradition request for Mr. Pecorelli has been scheduled for May 28, 2024, which, however, currently does not seem to be executable.
