The European spectacle of song, Eurovision Song, raised its curtains tonight in Malmö, Sweden.
The magical first night was opened by the singer of Albanian origin, Eleni Foureira, while the European song festival carries the slogan "United by music."
Tonight marks the first semi-final of this event, while on Thursday, May 9th, the second semi-final will take place, where Albania will compete with the singer Besa Kokëdhima. Saturday will mark the grand final on May 11th, where the winner of the European song festival will be announced.
Following the lineup by the organizers of the 68th edition of Eurovision 2024 in Malmo, all Albanians, who have been following this grand event of European and global music for decades, will have the opportunity to hear the representative of Albania in this edition, Besa Kokëdhima, on May 9th, in the second semi-final.
Her song "TITAN" will be the second to be performed on the second semi-final night.
The new English version of the song comes as a collaboration with renowned world producers such as Gia Koka, Serban Casan, and Alias LJ, and the well-known Albanian producer Kledi Bahiti. The music video was shot in Istanbul and comes as a trinity combining lyrics, message, and music.
With the song "Zemër n'dorë" (TITAN), Besa Kokëdhima gained the trust of the public to represent Albania in the 68th edition of Eurovision, at the 62nd Song Festival on RTSH.
Eurovision 2024 will be broadcast live by the Albanian Radio Television. Only 20 countries will be selected from the two semi-finals to proceed to the grand final to be held on May 11th, joining the five permanent finalist states and the host country, Sweden.
From the semi-final, ten finalists are evaluated by public vote. Voting occurs in two forms: Albanians residing in countries participating in the second semi-final night can vote using the code 02 on the phone numbers provided by the state where they reside, from the participating countries.
Meanwhile, all Albanians residing anywhere in the world, in the "rest of the world" voting, where online voting is available 24 hours before the online voting opens, can vote for Albania up to 20 times from any country in the world.
