Kosovo Police Urges Citizens to Avoid Border Crossings with Serbia Due to Upcoming Protest

The Kosovo Police have issued an urgent notice advising citizens to avoid border crossing points with Serbia tomorrow and to find alternative routes to reach their destinations. This warning comes in anticipation of a planned protest by Serbian nationals at the Jarinje crossing point scheduled for 1:00 PM.

The protest, organized under the slogan “Kosovo is Serbia,” is a reaction to the recent resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly, which officially recognizes the genocide committed by the Serbian army in Srebrenica during the war. The protestors have declared their intention to express support for the Serbian government and President Aleksandar Vučić.

In light of these events, the Kosovo Police stress the importance of public safety and urge all travelers to take necessary precautions and avoid the Jarinje crossing point to prevent any potential disruptions or confrontations. Alternative routes and means of reaching destinations should be considered to ensure smooth travel and avoid the protest area.

The situation highlights ongoing tensions between Kosovo and Serbia, particularly in response to international recognition and historical accountability. The Kosovo Police remain vigilant and committed to maintaining order and protecting the well-being of all citizens during this sensitive period.
