According to the announcement, experts from the United Kingdom will train Albanian judges to learn best practices and gain experience in combating money laundering, asset recovery, and corruption.
The British Foreign Secretary will also announce a new program to support the State Police in reforming and modernizing, aiming to tackle criminal groups that threaten the lives of both Albanians and Britons through drug trafficking and trade.
"Both initiatives will equip Albania with the best possible tools to fight gangs that encourage people to risk their lives crossing the English Channel and to supply the drug trade in the United Kingdom. A stronger judicial system and a more robust police force in Albania will make the country safer and more advanced," said the British government announcement.
The United Kingdom stated that it has invested up to £1.6 million to install security cameras on the border between Albania and Kosovo, using technology to record car license plates and employing drones to combat illegal immigration.
