The bustling port of Durrës, Albania's largest, recently welcomed the arrival of a luxurious cruise ship, the "World Traveller," adding the port to its Mediterranean itinerary. This event marks a significant milestone for the country's tourism industry, as the ship brought nearly 150 American and Canadian tourists to Albania for the first time.

Captain Taulant Allka of the Port of Durrës expressed his excitement about the arrival of such a high-end cruise liner, noting, "This is the highest level of luxury for a cruise ship that has visited the port of Durrës. It’s been a great season. The port is continuously visited by luxury yachts and cruise ships."
During their short stay, the tourists had the opportunity to explore some of Albania’s most treasured cities. They visited the ancient city of Durrës, with its rich history and stunning archaeological sites; the historic town of Krujë, known for its medieval castle and bustling bazaar; and the vibrant capital city of Tirana, which offers a mix of historical charm and modern attractions.
The visit by the "World Traveller" is just the beginning. The cruise ship has planned two more visits to Albania in July, docking at the picturesque ports of Sarandë and Vlorë. This not only highlights Albania's growing appeal as a travel destination but also showcases the country's potential to attract high-end tourism and further integrate into the Mediterranean cruise circuit.
