In a Facebook post, Daku explained that his offensive remarks were a result of the heat of the game.

"Apologies if I offended anyone after the match against Croatia. The intensity of the game affects you. I continue to work together with the entire group towards our dreams. Apologizing is a noble act, and I feel a moral and professional obligation to do so for all those who were hurt," he wrote on Facebook.

In his post, Daku also expressed his gratitude to the supporters of the Albanian national team.

"Like any footballer, emotions in those moments are at another level, which can only be understood on the field. It's difficult to describe the feeling of playing for this national team, for these wonderful fans who give us boundless love, just as our motto says, 'Albania, love without limits,'" he added.
