The squad announcement, however, came with some disappointment for another Albanian player, Andi Zeqiri, who was the last to be excluded from the team. Despite his commendable performances during recent training sessions, Coach Yakin decided to proceed with other forwards for the tournament.

"Andi made our decision difficult. He has performed very well recently. The training days showed that the competition is very strong, especially in the attacking phase, which is why other players were given priority," explained Coach Yakin.

Switzerland is set to play their first match on June 15 against Hungary. They are placed in Group A, along with host nation Germany and Scotland. This diverse group will pose a challenging yet exciting opportunity for the Swiss team to showcase their talents on the European stage.

Key Players to Watch

- Xherdan Shaqiri: Known for his creativity and technical skills, Shaqiri has been a crucial player for Switzerland in past tournaments. His experience and playmaking abilities will be vital for the team's success.

- Granit Xhaka: The team captain, Xhaka's leadership on and off the field is indispensable. His robust midfield presence and ability to control the game's tempo make him a key player.

- Ardon Jashari: The young and promising talent, Jashari, is expected to bring fresh energy and dynamism to the squad. His inclusion highlights Switzerland's strategy of blending experienced players with emerging talents.

Switzerland's journey in Euro 2024 will undoubtedly be one to watch, especially with the significant contributions expected from these Albanian players. Their participation not only strengthens the team but also underscores the rich multicultural fabric of Swiss football.
