Albanian Man Attempts to Fraudulently Claim €60,000 by Falsely Reporting Car Theft
 
 A 27-year-old man in Vlorë has been prosecuted for filing a false report that his car had been stolen.

The police announced that the 27-year-old's intention was to claim a compensation worth 60,000 euros.

"He filed a false report about the theft of his car, valued at 60,000 euros, to obtain compensation of the same amount. The 27-year-old is being prosecuted.

The car was found hidden in a garage and has been seized.

The investigative structures of the Vlorë Police Commissariat, immediately after receiving the report from citizen K. Ç., a resident of Italy, that his "Range Rover" car with Italian license plates, valued at 60,000 euros, had been stolen in Zvërnec, organized their work to clarify this case.


From the investigative actions, and based on secured video footage, it was found that K. Ç. had filed a false report about the theft of his car, aiming to obtain compensation of 60,000 euros from the car insurance company," the police informed.

Following the actions, materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings began in a free state for K. Ç., 27 years old, resident in Italy.

As a result of the checks carried out in cooperation with Police Station No. 4, the "Range Rover" car was found hidden in a garage in Tirana and was seized as material evidence.

The materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further actions.
