FSHF President Armand Duka Threatened Over National Team Selection; Multiple Arrests

In a shocking incident in Durrës, five individuals have been arrested and two others have been criminally prosecuted after allegedly threatening the President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), Armand Duka, via SMS. The threats are believed to have been made due to Duka’s refusal to include one of the suspect's sons in the Albanian national football team.

One of the arrested individuals is Nazmi Selmani, the President of the "Iliria" football club. According to sources within the investigative team, Selmani had pressured Duka to select his son for the national team. When Duka declined, the group of seven individuals allegedly proceeded to his residence to intimidate him further, local media say.

Initial reports indicate that the group first sent threatening messages to Duka before showing up at his home. Among those arrested are Redian Loci, Petrit Selmani, Brajan Selmani, and Santiago Selmani, all residents of Krujë. The two individuals who have been criminally prosecuted, identified only by their initials A.S., aged 24, and A.S., aged 39, are also implicated in the incident.

The event reportedly occurred the previous night around 10:30 PM when the group approached Duka’s residence and attempted to threaten him.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the full extent of the plot and ensure the safety of those involved.
