Thanks to assistance from the United States, the Land Force has taken another major step toward meeting the standards required by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This progress follows an increase in Albania’s military budget to 2% of its GDP, aligning with NATO member obligations.

Defense Minister Pirro Vengu highlighted that this strategic partnership with the U.S. is key to Albania’s military modernization efforts. He also announced that this process will continue with the revitalization of the country’s military industry, including the revival of arms production in the Poliçan, Gramsh, and Mjekës factories.

"This investment marks a significant step in the process of modernizing and enhancing the readiness of military structures, in line with our priority to strengthen defense infrastructure," Vengu stated. "The enrichment of the Land Force fleet is also a key element in boosting our defensive capabilities and meeting international standards."

This development is part of a broader initiative to ensure that Albania remains a strong and capable ally within NATO, with increased capacity to respond to both national and international security challenges.
