According to Oculus News, Rama was operated on by Dr. Arben Gjata. This is the second surgery the Prime Minister has had in recent times, having previously undergone an appendectomy on April 2023.

In late August, Prime Minister Rama announced that he would be undergoing another surgery due to a health problem. During a visit to QSUT, where a new day hospital was inaugurated, Rama stated that he would return as a patient to have surgery for an inguinal hernia.

"I can also speak as a patient of this hospital, which I have experienced myself, and I may come back for another intervention. I have an inguinal hernia that... I've even learned the name... I don't need a doctor for this disc, because I work with my own strength, with stretching, and self-control before eating so as not to burden it too much with my spine tired from basketball, but I can't seem to cure this inguinal with my own strength, so I'll be back," Rama said.

Prime Minister Edi Rama is in good health following the surgical intervention he underwent due to an inguinal hernia. The surgeon who performed the operation, Arben Gjata, confirmed to Euronews Albania that the surgery was successful and that the Prime Minister has woken up.

Rama underwent surgery on Thursday at the "Nënë Tereza" University Hospital Center, where he is expected to spend the night. For some time, the Prime Minister has been suffering from a hernia problem. Prime Minister Rama announced this intervention on August 29 during an inspection at the hospital.
