The operation was carried out by the Tripoli police, in cooperation with the OPKE units of Arcadia and Laconia, the canine team from Messinia, the Peloponnese Criminal Investigation Department, and the Greek police helicopter unit.

After gathering and analyzing the necessary intelligence, the authorities launched a well-organized police operation in the area, uncovering a sophisticated marijuana plantation consisting of 28 levels. The plantation was hidden in an inaccessible forested area with dense vegetation, covering approximately 35 hectares.

In total, the police found 1,253 marijuana plants, some reaching up to 3.5 meters in height. These were uprooted and confiscated, along with irrigation and cultivation equipment found on-site.

Additionally, the perpetrators had established a makeshift drying area for the cannabis plants, as well as auxiliary zones used for accommodation and surveillance of the plantation. In these areas, police seized 1 ton, 398 kilograms, and 934 grams of dried marijuana, with part of it already packaged and ready for sale.

One suspect has been identified as a member of the criminal group involved in this illegal activity. He was arrested in the Tripoli area and identified as Shqefen Ndreca, a 37-year-old Albanian national from Zejmen, Lezha, who was residing illegally in Greece. Authorities are continuing efforts to identify other members of the group.

It is estimated that the expected profits from this criminal operation would have reached approximately 10 million euros.
