The arrest was made possible through close cooperation between the Task Force for Joint Investigative Services in the Criminal Police Department, the Cybercrime Unit, the Regional Security Office of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, and the Prosecution Office of Tirana.
During a search conducted at his residence, police found and seized electronic devices and other materials used in committing this criminal activity.
David Ira Lang has a previous criminal record for similar offenses outside Albania. In 2018, he was convicted by a Russian court for six crimes related to producing and distributing pornographic images of minors. He was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison.
Lang settled in Chelyabinsk, Russia in 2003. He worked as a business consultant and English teacher. According to investigators, he built a studio and took thousands of photos and videos of minors, which he later posted on a website he created.
