The cooperation agreement was signed at the Ministry of Health by Albanian Health Minister Albana Koçiu and Sheba Medical Center CEO Yitshak Kreiss. Minister Koçiu emphasized that the partnership would allow Sheba experts to support the Oncology Hospital in Tirana, assisting Albanian medical staff in managing complex cases through real-time telemedicine.

Minister Koçiu highlighted the agreement’s role within Albania’s Hospital Autonomy Program, which is currently being implemented in six medical centers across the country and is expected to expand to 17 facilities. This program aims to improve operational efficiency and patient care by granting hospitals greater independence.

The partnership will also include training programs to familiarize Albanian doctors and nurses with cutting-edge therapies and medical technology. “This collaboration between QSUNT and the prestigious Sheba Medical Center aligns with our goals under the Hospital Autonomy Project and the Dual Practice framework for physicians,” noted Minister Koçiu.

Through this partnership, QSUNT is set to strengthen its healthcare standards and contribute to the Ministry of Health’s mission to transform the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital into a true center of excellence.
