Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) in North Macedonia, has called on Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski to fulfill his promise for early elections, which are expected to take place next fall alongside local elections. In an interview with Radio Free Europe, Ahmeti emphasized that restricting the official use of the Albanian language is a sensitive issue and warned that any attempt to limit it could act as a "powder keg" for potential tensions.

As an opposition leader, Ahmeti stated that legal steps will be taken to address the European Opposition Front's objections to Mickoski’s decision to include the VLEN political group in the government. He noted that a document is being prepared to support legitimacy through a new law.
Ahmeti also reiterated his commitment to constitutional changes that would include the Bulgarian community in the Constitution's preamble. He emphasized that this change does not undermine the Macedonian identity but, on the contrary, makes a clear distinction between the Bulgarian and Macedonian communities.
