This Thursday, November 7, 2024, Lausanne will host a special evening in support of the Swiss Institute of Albanian Studies (ISEAL). The event promises a vibrant program, featuring a diverse musical repertoire and a series of important activities to highlight the achievements and contributions of the Albanian community in Switzerland.
One of the evening’s highlights will be the unveiling of ISEAL’s new scholarly journal, set to launch in 2025. Available in French and German, with summaries in Albanian and English, this publication will serve as an essential platform for sharing research on Albanian literature, history, and culture, fostering international discussion and collaboration.
The event will also commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Albanian Student Association at the University of Lausanne (AEAUL). Established in 1994, AEAUL is the first Albanian student association recognized by a university rectorate and a federation of student associations outside the Balkans. This milestone celebrates generations of young Albanians dedicated to representing and promoting Albanian culture in Switzerland.
Additionally, the 30th anniversary of the ILIRET Association will be celebrated. This association has a rich history of promoting intercultural connections and strengthening the ties between Albanian culture and the wider Swiss community.
The evening in Lausanne offers a unique opportunity for dialogue, sharing experiences, and celebrating the major achievements of Albanian associations in Switzerland and their contributions to international cultural and educational exchange.
