“This ceremony holds different meanings for each of us,” Ambassador Hargreaves said. “I hope we continue this ceremony to inspire everyone and hope that this morning will inspire us to keep working for peace, in this region and around the world.”
The ceremony also included prayers from a British priest, brief speeches, and poetry from British soldiers in tribute to their fallen comrades.
In attendance were Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Bashkim Jashari, and the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj. KFOR commanders also participated in the ceremony, further symbolizing the strong bonds of cooperation in the pursuit of peace.
