For the past three days, family members and the public have demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The issue has gained national attention, even reaching Montenegro’s parliament, where former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović addressed the matter. Tafa, a mother of three, had no known prior health issues, according to her family.
Responding to public pressure, a Montenegrin court has ordered the exhumation of Tafa's body to conduct an autopsy, aiming to clarify the cause of death. While Montenegro's Health Minister has announced that an investigation is underway, no official report has been released.
Today, hundreds of people gathered in Ulcinj for a protest march, demanding justice for Drita Tafa and calling for accountability within the healthcare system. The incident has drawn widespread attention, underscoring concerns over healthcare standards and the treatment of patients in Montenegro.
