Albanian Criminal Network Busted in Spain for String of Burglaries

Operating initially in Salou, Tarragona, the group later expanded their activities to other provinces, including Alicante, Murcia, Madrid, Toledo, Granada, and Jaén. Investigators discovered that the stolen valuables were hidden in a safe, which was seized during the operation.

Upon opening the safe, authorities uncovered stolen jewelry and €21,800 in cash.

The investigation began in November of last year when a pattern of similar home burglaries was identified. The breakthrough came when investigators traced the criminals through a getaway vehicle registered in Italy, belonging to a car rental company.

This key detail enabled law enforcement to identify the group members, all of whom were Albanian nationals, and locate their base of operations in Tarragona.

In a coordinated operation, police arrested the five suspects and seized stolen jewelry, accessories, mobile phones, transmission equipment, and burglary tools during the raids.

The operation marks a significant success in combating organized crime and highlights the effectiveness of coordinated investigative efforts across Spain.
