Among other topics, Mehmeti expressed his loyalty while emphasizing that he enjoys playing in the Premier League, stating he's not afraid of the opponents he'll face.
Mehmeti shared insights into his background:
"I grew up in a simple house and everything I wanted was to play football. Here I learned to be ambitious. I was born in England, but my heart is Albanian and I speak Albanian.
Playing in the Premier League against stars like Alexander-Arnold or Walker? I always joke with the boys, respectfully, it doesn't interest me who is in front of me."
Regarding the upcoming England-Albania match, Mehmeti expressed his enthusiasm:
"The England-Albania game is the kind of challenge you live for. I've played three times for Albania, but there was a period last year when I wasn't called up. This was disappointing, but I hope I'll have a chance to play against England.
I finished without a club due to Covid. I've always had faith in myself, but there were doubts when it's been five months without a club."
This remarkable story highlights the potential of young footballers from smaller countries making their mark on larger leagues. As Mehmeti continues his journey in English football, it will be exciting to see how he develops and potentially represents Albania internationally in the future.
