During a year-end press conference, Prime Minister Rama underscored the importance of hosting the summit, highlighting it as a testament to Albania’s growing stature on the global stage. “Hosting the NATO Summit in 2027, something unimaginable just a few years ago, demonstrates how far we have come. Together with NATO, we have already begun preparations for this monumental event,” Rama stated.

The Prime Minister elaborated on the logistical and infrastructural efforts underway to ensure Albania meets the high standards expected for such an international gathering. “A NATO inspection team has already assessed our infrastructure and logistics. These evaluations would have been impossible without the progress achieved over the past decade, thanks to the partnership between the national government and the Municipality of Tirana,” he noted.

The presence of President Trump, along with other world leaders, in Tirana is expected to send a strong message about Albania’s strategic importance and its evolving role within the NATO alliance. “This visit symbolizes Albania’s new political position in the international arena. We are a small country with modest influence, but today we are treated as equals and with a level of respect unprecedented in our history,” Rama affirmed.

Albania joined NATO in 2009, and since then, it has actively contributed to the alliance’s missions. Hosting the 2027 NATO Summit will not only be a diplomatic milestone but also an opportunity for Albania to showcase its advancements in governance, infrastructure, and international relations.

As preparations intensify in the lead-up to the summit, Albania’s leaders remain committed to making the event a success, further solidifying the country’s reputation as a reliable and capable NATO member. The visit of President Trump, a polarizing yet influential figure, is likely to draw global attention, emphasizing the importance of Albania’s role in fostering unity within the alliance.
