In a recent interview on Ora e Fundit on ABC News, Ibsen Elezi, a former candidate for the leadership of the Democratic Party of Albanians, expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha's call for civil disobedience. Elezi noted that such appeals have failed to yield positive results in the past and criticized Berisha's recent suggestion to attack Albanian embassies abroad, calling it a disoriented move.

“I don’t think these protests have had a positive impact on public opinion, especially considering the latest polls,” Elezi stated. “The party's image continues to deteriorate. It’s abnormal, and I struggle to find an appropriate term for this behavior. While it’s true that some ambassadors are appointed by political parties, this is not a justification for such erratic actions. If these actions occur, they will be condemned in the public arena. These are senseless and chaotic moves, which reflect poorly on the Democratic Party.”
Elezi emphasized that the Democratic Party cannot build effective strategies anymore and that its recent actions are damaging its image further. "This chaotic approach is not beneficial for the party," he concluded.
Elezi’s remarks underscore growing divisions within the Democratic Party, as members and former leaders debate its direction and approach in an increasingly challenging political landscape.
