Elezi further explained that the review of applications will continue through December 27, after which the CEC will provide a final report on the total number of Kosovars registered to vote from abroad.

On December 26, the ruling party, the Self-Determination Movement (Vetëvendosje), expressed its intention to extend the registration deadline until Sunday. However, the CEC meeting to discuss this proposal failed due to the absence of opposition party representatives.

Earlier in December, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that there would be 22 postal voting centers in 22 different countries where members of the diaspora could cast their ballots. In addition, physical voting will be organized at 35 diplomatic and consular missions across 22 countries.
