Angel and Florina Cani, the parents of Martin, have written an open letter to the U.S. Embassy in Tirana and Albanian institutions, calling for justice in the wake of their son's tragic death. In their letter, they express their grief and frustration, stating that their son was "killed for the second time" due to the irresponsibility of certain Albanian institutions and their failure to take responsibility for the events surrounding his death. The parents demand justice for the individuals involved in the crime.

Full Letter from Martin’s Parents:
"We are Angel and Florina Cani, the parents of the 14-year-old Martin Cani, who has been missing from our family for three weeks now, after being killed at a time when we thought he was safe at school, an institution managed by the Albanian state.
For more than two weeks, we have been living through a second murder of Martin, due to the irresponsibility of several Albanian institutions. No one has taken responsibility or resigned for their incompetence, which caused us to lose our son. The most unbelievable and unforgivable part is that they are also killing us as parents and Henri, Martin’s brother, with their attempts to distort and manipulate the truth, deliberately failing to uncover the truth, only to protect the guilty parties who, unlike Martin, are still alive. I say this based on information from people supporting me. Discussions and debates in television studios from journalists, prosecutors, lawyers, and former police officers have made it clear how the situation is being handled. We are also afraid of the way in which other tragedies have been dealt with, where perpetrators were helped to escape punishment.
Dear Mrs. Nancy,
I have faith in you as the mother of a wonderful son and as a representative of a nation that holds justice sacred.
Please help us by seriously monitoring the behavior and actions of the Albanian law enforcement institutions to ensure the full truth is revealed and that all those involved in the crime and those protecting it are brought to justice.
We know that Martin cannot return to us, but at least justice for those who killed and are continuing to kill my son will give us the peace of mind to focus on Henri, Martin’s brother, who does not know that Martin will no longer see him, kiss him, or sleep with him, as they did just three weeks ago.
I trust you.
With respect and pain in our hearts,
Angel and Florina Cani."
