In a recent operation code-named “Fee,” Elbasan police have dismantled a criminal network involved in prostitution and its exploitation. Seven individuals were caught in the act, one was criminally prosecuted, and two others were declared wanted as investigations continue.
Arrests and Charges
Among those arrested were Colombian nationals A. B. (22 years old) and L. B. (19 years old), both charged with "Exploitation of Prostitution." Spanish nationals S. F. (36) and M. C. (32), Colombians P. S. (27) and Y. A. (29), and Venezuelan national A. R. (38) were charged with the crime of "Prostitution."
Additionally, Venezuelan national Y. O. (31) was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office and is under criminal proceedings for engaging in prostitution.
Two Peruvian nationals, F. G. (23) and J. G. (44), have been declared wanted for their alleged involvement in exploiting prostitution, and efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend them.
Criminal Scheme
The network operated from multiple rented apartments in various neighborhoods across Elbasan. These locations were adapted for prostitution, and services were advertised online. Through these platforms, the suspects allegedly offered sexual favors in exchange for payment.
Seized Evidence
During the operation, law enforcement confiscated 43,000 ALL, 2,780 euros, and nine mobile phones, suspected to be proceeds and tools of the criminal activity.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities continue to gather legal evidence to strengthen the case and are actively pursuing the two suspects still at large.
Broader Context
This operation is a significant step in combating organized crime in Albania. Prostitution and its exploitation remain pressing social issues, and this case highlights the challenges law enforcement faces in dismantling such networks.
The Elbasan police have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring public safety and holding those involved in criminal activities.
