According to Kosovo’s Minister of Defense, Haki Maqedonci, the specialized training sessions included “Automatic Weapon Training” and “Sniper Training,” both of which are essential for improving the effectiveness and professionalism of infantry units. These programs are part of a broader effort to upgrade the skills of Kosovo’s military personnel and increase the overall combat readiness of the KSF.

Maqedonci emphasized that the primary objective of these training exercises was to further professionalize KSF members, ensuring that they are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties at the highest standard. He stated, “The goal of these trainings is to elevate the professionalism of our forces and enhance the operational capacity of our infantry units.”

In addition to these specific training programs, Maqedonci acknowledged the continuous and invaluable support provided by the Turkish Armed Forces in the professional and technical development of the KSF. Over the years, Turkey has played a crucial role in providing both training and technical assistance, helping Kosovo to build a modern, capable military force.

The collaboration between Kosovo and Turkey in defense matters has grown steadily since Kosovo’s independence, with both countries sharing a commitment to regional stability, peace, and security. This partnership not only benefits the KSF in terms of training but also strengthens the ties between Kosovo and Turkey, promoting broader strategic cooperation.

Turkey’s contributions to the professional growth of the KSF have been evident through a series of ongoing joint exercises, workshops, and technical training programs. These efforts are intended to prepare Kosovo's military forces for a wide range of potential challenges, from peacekeeping operations to national defense.

Looking ahead, Kosovo’s military continues to focus on modernization and capacity building in partnership with international allies like Turkey, which remain key to the development of a secure and well-trained defense force capable of contributing to regional and international peacekeeping efforts. Through these continuous efforts, Kosovo’s security forces are progressively advancing toward NATO standards, strengthening their role in promoting stability in the Western Balkans.
