The Albanian language school "ILIRIA" has officially opened in Walthamstow, London, marking a significant step in preserving Albanian culture and identity among the diaspora in the United Kingdom. In his address, Gashi highlighted the critical role these schools play in maintaining the Albanian language, culture, and heritage for future generations. "Through learning the Albanian language, we preserve our identity and culture, ensuring the connection of younger generations with our heritage, which is our future," he said.

The founder of the school, Ms. Djana Kociaj, expressed her gratitude to the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo for its support. She noted that the embassy’s provision of learning materials, including books, was instrumental in enabling the school to commence classes for its students.

The opening of "ILIRIA" represents a vital effort to strengthen cultural ties within the Albanian community in London and to nurture a sense of pride and belonging among children of Albanian descent. This initiative underscores the commitment of the diaspora to preserving their language and traditions in a multicultural environment.

As the school begins its journey, it is expected to serve as both an educational institution and a cultural hub, fostering a deeper connection between the Albanian diaspora and their roots.
