In addition to his festive message, Celibashi shared important news regarding the upcoming parliamentary elections. He announced that starting from January 11, 2025, the registration process for voters living abroad will officially begin, as part of preparations for the general parliamentary elections scheduled for May 11, 2025.

Celibashi emphasized that the voter registration will be conducted through the Electronic Voter Registration Platform for overseas citizens, which can be accessed via the KQZ application or the official website of the Central Election Commission.

This year’s elections mark a significant milestone in Albania’s democratic process. For the first time, the Albanian diaspora will have the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates without the need to travel to Albania. This historic development allows Albanians living abroad to cast their votes in the country where they currently reside.

In his full message, Celibashi stated:

“Wishing all Albanians a healthy and prosperous New Year in 2025, I announce that on January 11, 2025, the registration process for voters from abroad will begin, ahead of the elections for the Albanian Parliament on May 11, 2025.

The registration will take place through the Electronic Voter Registration Platform for overseas voters, which can be accessed through the KQZ application or the institution’s website. This is a historic moment for the elections in Albania, as for the first time, our fellow citizens living outside the territory of the Republic of Albania will have the opportunity to vote where they reside.”

The 2025 parliamentary elections will mark a turning point for Albania, further integrating the diaspora into the country’s democratic processes.
