An Italian national has been arrested in Tirana as part of a police operation codenamed “Luxury Cars”, while his brother has been placed under criminal investigation. The two individuals were involved in trafficking luxury vehicles from Italy to Albania.

Police Statement:

Specialists from the Section for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking at the Tirana Police Directorate, in collaboration with the Rinas Police Station, acted based on intelligence that two individuals were engaged in criminal activities related to vehicle trafficking. This led to the organization and finalization of Operation “Luxury Cars”.

As a result of the operation, Italian citizen D. S., 37 years old, residing in Italy, was arrested, while his brother, F. S., also residing in Italy, was placed under investigation but remains free.

Investigations have revealed that the two suspects collaborated in trafficking stolen vehicles—mainly from Italy—into Albania.

As evidence, police have seized two high-end vehicles, an Audi Q3 and a BMW X6, both recent models, with a total estimated value of €150,000.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, to uncover further instances of vehicle trafficking potentially linked to these individuals.
