Rilindja Shqiptare: The New Albanian Party in Montenegro

 Rilindja Shqiptare, the newest Albanian political party in Montenegro, was founded by Prelë Ujkaj, a former member of the Democratic League of Montenegro and later an advisor to the Albanian Alternative. Ujkaj left the latter party in 2024 before establishing his own political movement.

The party was officially registered in the Official Gazette of Montenegro on January 22, 2025. According to the registry, the founding assembly of Rilindja Shqiptare took place on November 22, 2024, and the party’s headquarters are located in Tuz, a town with a significant Albanian population in Montenegro.

Rilindja Shqiptare's formation marks a new chapter for the Albanian political community in Montenegro, as the party aims to represent their interests and strengthen the Albanian voice in the country's political landscape. The party’s registration is seen as a strategic step in the ongoing evolution of Albanian political influence in Montenegro.
