On Tuesday, the Kosovo Police announced the discovery of a highly sophisticated laboratory in Pristina used for the production of counterfeit documents. These documents included passports, identity cards, and driver’s licenses.
The investigation led the police to a property where they seized advanced equipment, including laser machines and printers. Additionally, they confiscated over 20,000 microchips and thousands of documents linked to 51 different countries.
The case is currently being investigated by the Kosovo Prosecutor’s Office under charges of document forgery and organized crime.
This discovery highlights the scale and complexity of document forgery operations and underscores the importance of cross-border cooperation in combating such organized criminal activities.
