Statement from the Wrestling Federation:
“With great sorrow and grief, we announce the passing of Kujtim Ninas (Gut Lala), a distinguished figure in wrestling and a tremendous loss for Albanian sports. Kujtim was one of the most respected champions of wrestling, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy and making significant contributions to the development of this sport.
He was honored with the medal ‘Honor of Gollobordë Wrestling’ and was an integral member of renowned wrestling teams such as ‘17 Nëntori,’ ‘Tomorri,’ and ‘Dajti.’ Active during the 1970s and 1980s, he became a national champion in 1979 in the 82-90 kg weight category. Kujtim also played a key role in the administration of wrestling, serving as a member of the Executive Board of the Albanian National Wrestling Association.
This loss is a severe blow to the sport of wrestling, which has lost a beloved and dedicated member. Kujtim will always remain an inspiration for all those who loved wrestling and contributed to its growth.
