Albania U-16 Falls to Hungary in Friendly Match

 The Albania U-16 national football team played their first friendly match against Hungary today at the "House of Football." Despite a determined performance, the young Red and Blacks were defeated 0-2.

Match Overview

Head coach Andrea Tedesco fielded the following starting lineup: Simon Lleshi (GK), Elton Dodaj, Frensi Mali, Petro Marku, Emiljanko Malko, Afrim Gashi, Kledi Qosja, Eris Kurtulaj, Arber Lleshi, Alvin Zekaj (C), and Denis Matraku.

Albania had the first dangerous opportunity of the match in the 7th minute when Kledi Qosja attempted a shot, but the Hungarian goalkeeper made a crucial save. The home side continued to push forward and nearly opened the scoring in the 21st minute, when captain Alvin Zekaj fired a shot from inside the box, only to be denied once again by the opposing goalkeeper.

The first half ended goalless, with both teams showing solid defensive displays.

Second Half Action

Hungary started the second half stronger and took the lead through Varga Zsolt. Later in the game, the visitors doubled their advantage thanks to a well-taken penalty by Polonkai Noel.

Despite Albania’s efforts to find the back of the net, the match ended in a 0-2 defeat for the Red and Blacks.

Upcoming Fixture

Albania U-16 will have a chance to bounce back in their second friendly against Hungary U-16, scheduled for Thursday at 14:30, again at the "House of Football."
