According to Albanian authorities, the arrest was made possible through the rapid exchange of information between the Special Operational Force Directorate (FAST Albania) and the German Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) via the ENFAST network. The police operation, codenamed “Operacionalja 25,” led to the suspect’s location in the “Komuna e Parisit” area of Tirana, where he was provisionally detained for extradition to Germany.

“The operation resulted in the identification and arrest of R.G., 42 years old, an Israeli national with Canadian citizenship, who was internationally wanted,” the police stated.

The Bamberg Court in Germany had issued an arrest warrant for the suspect on charges of repeated fraud, a criminal offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison under the German Penal Code.

Interpol Tirana is working closely with its counterparts to finalize the extradition procedure for the 42-year-old to Germany.
