Kosovo Government Approves Emergency Hotline for Victims of Domestic and Gender-Based Violence

 The Government of Kosovo has approved the Administrative Instruction for the Emergency Telephone Line for Victims of Domestic Violence, Violence Against Women, and Gender-Based Violence.

During the presentation of this initiative, Prime Minister Albin Kurti emphasized the importance of a swift and effective response from state institutions to assist victims. He stated that the emergency hotline provides "immediate assistance in emergency situations and rapid referral to the relevant services, ensuring that victims have access to the necessary support for their protection and empowerment."

Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice highlighted that the purpose of this initiative is to establish an "emergency, specialized hotline that offers immediate, accessible, safe, and confidential support for victims of domestic violence, violence against women, and gender-based violence."

"The emergency hotline serves as a central contact point, offering victims and citizens the opportunity to report cases related to domestic violence, violence against women, and gender-based violence," stated Minister Haxhiu.

This initiative represents a crucial step in strengthening support systems for victims and ensuring that they receive timely and efficient assistance from the relevant authorities.
