Albania U-17 Women's National Team Falls to Israel in European Championship Match

 The Albania U-17 women's national team played their first match of the second round of the UEFA European Championship against Israel today. The match, held at Centre d’Entrenament FAF Santa Coloma, ended with a 3-1 victory for Israel. Amelia Reci scored Albania's only goal in the encounter.

Albania's head coach Cyme Lulaj fielded the following starting eleven: Ambra Reshiti (GK), Egla Hoxha, Sara Mustafa, Marina Rushaj, Albana Malaj, Samanta Hysa, Gerta Brahimi, Amelia Reci, Christina Heidi Bekteshi, Erina Bajramaj, and team captain Gelda Kadiolli.

The game started unfavorably for Albania, as they were reduced to ten players in the 19th minute when Marina Rushaj received a red card. Just four minutes later, Israel took advantage of their numerical superiority and opened the scoring through Ben Zvi in the 23rd minute. The first half ended with Israel leading 1-0.

Despite playing with one player less, Albania showed great resilience and managed to equalize in the 67th minute. Forward Amelia Reci produced a stunning long-range strike, bringing the score to 1-1.

As the match approached its conclusion, Israel secured the victory with two late goals in stoppage time, both scored by Ella Esther Fabian. The match ended 3-1 in favor of Israel.

Looking ahead, Albania will face host nation Andorra on March 7 at 15:00, followed by their final match against Belarus on March 10 at 12:00. The team will be eager to bounce back and secure positive results in their upcoming fixtures.
