Among those rescued were 12 children who had departed from Çeşme, Turkey, with the aim of reaching the Greek island of Chios. The perilous journey across the sea posed significant dangers, highlighting the urgency of intervention.

Following the completion of the operation, the rescued migrants were handed over to the Turkish Coast Guard, which expressed gratitude for the crucial support provided by the Albanian vessel "Butrinti."
