Albanians in Bursa Organize a Massive Iftar for 2,000 People

Residents of Albanian origin from the Zafer and Namık Kemal neighborhoods in the Osmangazi district of Bursa, Turkey, have once again come together to organize a massive iftar, a tradition that continues to grow, state media reports.

This year’s gathering, organized by the youth of these neighborhoods, saw the participation of 2,000 people—doubling last year’s attendance of 1,000. The young organizers saved money and, with additional support from charitable donors, managed to arrange a deal with a catering company to provide food for the event.

The iftar took place on Namık Kemal Street and brought together residents from the surrounding areas, fostering a sense of unity and community spirit.

Zafer neighborhood is particularly known for its residents of Balkan origin, with a significant number being of Albanian descent. This event highlights the strong cultural ties and communal values of the Albanian diaspora in Bursa, reinforcing traditions that have been preserved over generations.
