For the seventh consecutive year, Banka Kombëtare Tregtare (BKT) has been recognized by Global Finance as the "Best Bank in Albania" for 2025. This prestigious accolade is part of the annual awards by Global Finance, which for the 32nd year in a row, honors the best banks across Central and Eastern Europe.
BKT was distinguished for its financial stability, comprehensive range of services, and technological innovation. The selection process conducted by Global Finance involved an analysis of key objective factors, including asset growth, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, development of new business lines, and product innovation. Additionally, the evaluation was supported by insights from financial analysts, credit rating agencies, and industry experts.
Joseph D. Giarraputo, Founder and Editorial Director of Global Finance, highlighted the evolving nature of the banking sector, emphasizing the crucial role of Artificial Intelligence in accelerating the financial industry's transformation.
Commenting on the award, BKT’s CEO and Board Member, Mr. Seyhan Pencablıgil, stated that the recognition reflects another exceptional year for the bank. “BKT concluded 2024 with significant growth across all portfolios. We have transformed our service model from a product-centric approach to a customer-oriented strategy. This transition, backed by cutting-edge technology, aims to simplify processes and deliver more personalized, intuitive, and efficient solutions for our clients,” he said.

Founded in 1925, BKT is the largest and oldest commercial bank in Albania. With total assets amounting to €6.6 billion and deposits reaching €5.5 billion, the bank provides services through 62 branches and innovative digital channels. BKT closed 2024 with a remarkable return on equity of 20%, marking an extraordinary achievement.
