The women’s basketball team of Flamurtari has been crowned champions of the prestigious Liga Unike, following an impressive victory against Peja in the final. The team from Vlora secured the title with a 10-point lead, finishing the match 72-62.
Flamurtari maintained an advantage for most of the game, showcasing remarkable determination and control. Head coach Agim Dalipi expressed his joy after the win, emphasizing the importance of keeping the trophy in Vlora.
“It was a final with great responsibility, and our goal was to bring this cup home to Vlora. I congratulate the girls for their sacrifice, desire, and hard work. The credit goes to the players and the fans,” said coach Dalipi.
Tea Memushi, one of Flamurtari’s key players, described the trophy as a significant achievement for the team and extended her gratitude to the supporters.
“We all feel incredibly happy. This was missing from Flamurtari’s archive. What made us feel even better was the crowd, and we thank them immensely,” said Memushi.
Another standout performer of the tournament was Xhekson, who acknowledged the toughness of the final and praised the fans’ energy.
“It was a tough match. Peja played well and made things difficult for us. We had the support of our fans, and their incredible energy helped us a lot. The opponents were strong, but we managed to prevail,” Xhekson stated.
Liga Unike is a competition that brings together the best basketball teams from both Kosovo and Albania, making Flamurtari’s triumph even more meaningful on a regional level.
